Description
Sitting on the native lands of the Arapaho, Cheyenne, and Ute, Chautauqua park and the flatirons are one of the most visited and breathtaking locations in Colorado, and occupies a special place in my own heart as well. Growing up as a kid I used to (and still do) struggle with my weight and body image. Hiking in general, but particularly hiking the flatirons, used to be an extremely challenging and demoralizing task. However, finding help from a supportive community in the outdoors allowed me to gain a more healthy sense of self confidence, which eventually grew into a love for those strenuous trails. pushing through that discomfort as a teenager helped me to find a unique love for my environment as well as an appreciation for my body. Although this print may seem far removed from that the stories we hold around a place can make it feel so special and unique for us and the people were with. My main goal with this print was to create a piece that could remind viewers of their own experience with a particular place.I hope you cats dig it.
